ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & JOB CREATION

As Mayor of Rockwall, I will ensure that in cooperation with our Rockwall Economic Development Corporation (REDC), we will continue to attract commercial businesses that create jobs for our Rockwall residents; fosters new retail, restaurants, and entertainment options; and the business property taxes and sales tax revenue generated by said businesses will continue to reduce the property tax burden for all of our residents, especially our elderly residents.

  • Work with REDC to attract businesses

    Continue to work closely with the Rockwall Economic Development Corporation (REDC) to ensure forward-thinking business development strategies that attract commercial businesses; thereby, reducing the reliance on residential city property taxes.

  • Job Creation through New Businesses

    Actively attract new businesses and industries that align with Rockwall’s economic goals which ensure continued job creation for Rockwall residents.

  • Expand Tax Base with Smart Commercial Growth

    Expand the sales tax base by supporting smart commercial growth which will foster new retail, restaurants, and entertainment options.

  • Commercial Property Acquisitions

    Utilize commercial property acquisitions strategically to support growth which will bolster Rockwall’s competitive edge within the North Texas market.

  • Recruit businesses into Chamber of Commerce

    Work closely with the Rockwall Chamber of Commerce to continue recruitment of local businesses into the chamber who will increase our small business community and thereby will benefit from the support of the chamber and our community.
